My Travel Cash Card
My travel cash offers three types of card to the public. The first is a Euro card, the second a Dollar card, and the third a Multi currency card. The idea behind each of these cards is that when you travel, you load money onto the card that you can then use in the country you are visiting. Because all three of these cards are backed by MasterCard, they can be used anywhere that the MasterCard acceptance mark is found.
The Euro Card
This card is great if you are travelling in countries where the Euro is the currency used. It can be used anywhere where Euros are accepted, and the MasterCard acceptance mark found. You can load it with money online, and you’ll get a discount internet Euro rate when you do. The card is designed to be a cheap alternative to using your normal credit or debit card abroad. There is no fee for purchases made in Euros, and a fee of 2.5% for purchases that are not in Euros. Cash withdrawals cost E1.25 per transaction.
The Dollar Card
If you are travelling in America or any other country where Dollars are an accepted currency then this card is great. Like the Euro card, you can load it online and then withdraw foreign currency abroad, and you get a discount internet US Dollar rate. The card is generally cheaper than using your normal credit or debit card abroad would be. There is no fee for purchases made in $’s and 2.5% fee for transactions that are not in Dollars. Cash withdrawals cost $1.50 per transaction.
The Multi Currency Card
Like with the two cards above, this card is great if you’re travelling, however with this card things do work slightly differently. The card is loaded with sterling, and then when you travel, it is converted at point of sale to whatever the local currency is. As long as the MasterCard acceptance mark is found, this card is valid. Fees are 50p for purchase transactions that are in £’s, and 1.5% for those not in £’s. In the UK it will cost you £1.50 per ATM withdrawal, and outside the UK this is just £1.00 instead.
All the cards can be toped up free via bank transfer, or debit card, and cost 2.5% if you want to top up with a credit card. You can check your balance free on the website, or by phone (standard UK local call rates). It is also possible to check your balance by text but this does incur a small fee.
